Ready, Set, Speedball!

A new challenge for all you fast and furious players – This Sunday, the 26th of April, we are hosting a Speedball IMP Tournament on Bridgebig.com with a minimum of €2,000 in your prize pool! So get your energy drinks ready and shush up the kids – 48 boards in 160 minutes… Go!

Speedball, what’s different?

You won’t be rushed badly, but you have less time per decision: 10 sec’s. Per board you will have 3.3 minutes (40 minutes per stage).
Because there is less time, we automatically activate “more time” for you, so you won’t have to click it yourself, there will be a blue clock. Your total extra time during the tournament is 45 seconds and will increase by 5 seconds after every finished board up to a maximum of 45 seconds.
It is an IMP-tournament! The first one on Bridge Big. So the carry-over will work differently. Your IMP’s of the previous stages will be divided by two at the start of a new stage. After this your IMP’s will accumulate with your carry-over.

Example: Your score after stage 1 is +10 IMP’s. You will start stage 2 with +5 IMP’s. If you score +12 IMP’s in your stage 2, than your score will be +17 IMP’s. Starting stage 3 with +8,5 IMP’s. This will show as +8, but your half IMP DOES count.

Earn your entry in the €10, €15 & €20 qualifiers

The €50 direct buy-in is the fastest, but not the only way to enter the tournament. You can also earn your entry by playing one of the qualifiers:

There will be a €10 qualifier on Friday, 24 April at 7 PM (UTC) where 1 in 5 players will win an entry ticket for the Speedball tournament.
There will be a €15 qualifier on Saturday, 25 April at 7 PM (UTC) where approximately 1 in 3 players will win an entry ticket for the Speedball tournament.
There will be a €20 qualifier on Friday, 24 April at 6 PM (UTC) where 2 in 5 players will win an entry ticket for the Speedball tournament.

For every €50 in a qualifier prize pool there will be a ticket to the Sunday Special. And we will be rounding up to an extra ticket. The qualifiers will be an 8 board MP (%) tournament.
